Helping Business Owners sell their business ...when they are ready...retirement, other interest, illness, (whatever) sell their business is not a task to be taken lightly. The answers to many of their questions change depending on the circumstances. For example, what's my business worth ? How long will it take? What should I do to prepare? And of course, many more questions?

1. The value of your business....meaning the amount it will sell for, depends on how fast you want to sell it. A seller who wants to sell fast would of course expect to sell for a lower price, just how low of a price, 70% of value, 80% of value, and how do you find these buyers and of course...find them fast?

2. Another seller might be in no hurry and want to capitalize on the sale of his business to earn as much money form the sale as possible. What would that business value be? What other incentives can a seller offer to earn even more money? These are questions that I answer, day in and day out..while helping sellers sell their business.

For example...did you know...it is unlikely for a buyer to obtain a bank loan to buy a business, ask yourself, what's the security for the bank? A Bakery in a leased shopping plaza owns the equipment and has a lease, this is not enough security for a bank loan. Then, the question is, well then..how does the business usually get sold for the most money? And, again ....what's the Bakery worth and how do you prove to a buyer what the business value is? An answer, show the buyer the like business comparables of other businesses that have sold recently and are currently for sale.

Here's an interesting statistic you might find interesting, how many buyers do you think I interview to find the right buyer? Ten ? Twenty, Maybe 100? The answer is yes to all these choices. And where will all these buyers come from? Marketing, lot's of marketing. Website's. Newspapers. Other Business Brokers. Trade Magazines. Other like business owners. Overseas buyers.  My records of buyers who have been looking for awhile, for example...a buyer might want a dinner in a particular area and not one could be found, I keep that buyers information on file and eventually...a dinner will be for sale.
